(17) Ways To Transform Any Room Into A Home Classroom!
Whether you 'home school' your own children, or nanny for others, or simply enjoy having your grandkids come stay while mom and dad are away, here are some fascinating ways to transforms rooms in your home to offer your kiddos the perfect space to LEARN!
As you look through these (17) home school room decor ideas, you will notice a 'theme'…organization is KEY! Whether through color-coding or actual bins to keep everything in its place, it's important to teach our young kids how to be organized.
Room #1) This family converted their garage into an 'open-air' center for education. The long tables provide the desk space needed and rolling bins keep their stuff all in it's proper place.
Room #2) Color Coding Bins either per child or topic is a great way to keep their little eyes entertained as they learn.
Room #3 Again, color coding and even adding their initials over their own workspace keeps the room in perfect harmony.
Room #4) Using small area rugs has proven beneficial in getting little ones to sit and focus on the task at hand.
Room #5) Or maybe a colorful area rug is more age-appropriate for the age group you're trying to influence.
Room #6) For the more 'vintage' look, use items to resemble a more 'old school' look to inspire your kiddos!
Room #7) For a more specific topic at hand, create a 'math market' or maybe a 'spelling corner.' Just make it fun and you'll keep their attention longer.
Room #8) And get the little ones involved in decorating their space as well. Here a mom had the kids create the alphabet posters. Very cute!
Room #9) Lockers are just amazing and allow each child to be truly responsible for his or her own space.
Room #10) Create a reading corner with these picture rails alongside the super-sized chalk board for hours of creativity!
Room #11) Map decor…spurs excellent lunch and dinner conversations! Either as wallpaper OR place mats.
Room #12) As a matter of fact, paint an entire wall with chalk board paint and never worry again about what kids are drawing on the walls!
Room #13) The key is make the space fun, inviting and organized.
Room #14) My favorite…create library-like cubicles for everyone to have his or her own space for whatever the reason!
Room #15) For kids with multiple likes and interest, keep the space flexible to accommodate the different tasks at hand.
Room #16) Again…organization is key. This mom found use for a jewelry organizer to keep the desk supplies in order. (or maybe even a clear shoe organizer would do the trick)
Room #17) Keep books right out in the open (and low to the ground) for all the kids to find.
Thank you everyone for sharing your cleverly awesome ways to transform our rooms into the perfect study spot!
